Role - Project Management - Upgrade of the building to +67%NBS, full replacement of drainage systems, car park, and interior tenancy repaint

Challenge

Following damage caused by the earthquake in 2011, the owners of the buildings decided to complete a pragmatic repair to the earth quake damaged buildings bringing the buildings up to +67% New Building Standard (NBS).  This required the extension of the foundations to the buildings.   The building owners also completely renewed the damaged drainage systems, renew the badly settled car park structure including kerbs, channels and pavements.  To compliment this, the exteriors of the buildings were given a fresh decorations and new LED lighting.  Internally, the tenancies have had wall and ceiling cracks repaired and a fully redecorated along with new LED lighting provided by the tenant.

The tenancy works were carried out after hours during consecutive weekends to allow the business fulfil its services to the local community.  No down time was encountered for the tenant even through the replacement of the drains and pavement right outside the main door occurred during normal working hours.

Value

Project & construction management with the correct selection of contractors and suppliers, combined with the detailed pre planning of the timeline and phasing of the works around the general public and tenant trading, the project was completed very efficiently with no disruption to the tenant or service to the public.  Exterior facades of neighbouring tenants give a bright complimentary look.
