Role - Earthquake Repairs to campus buildings

Earthquake repairs and reinstatement works completed on U Block - Visions Cafe - 3 commercial kitchens, teaching space, dinning, cafe and bar facilities

This was a major strengthening and renovation project carried out over two stages, with tight programs of 12 & 7 weeks during the christmas semester breaks of 2014/15 & 2015/16.

Works carried out included: relevel of partial slab area and ground beams, replacement of an area of large floor slab and all the consequential works including ceiling & wall linings, floor coverings, joinery units and services.

Toilet areas, dining rooms and cafe space needed to be rebuilt as they were in the area of floor slab replacement - this was achieved by scoping the full extent of works with photographs and these were referred to during the reconstruction phase to ensure like for like replacement.

It was a major coordination project maintaining the program with the numerous subcontractors amounting to up to 50 personnel on site per day.

Prior to this work being completed a new external stair was constructed to comply with the current building codes, triggered by the ground floor works.

With in the building footprint was a transformer room, it required relevel and EQ repairs, these were completed when the transformer could be taken offline without impacting the campus.
