Dr. John Morton was treating dental patients in his surgery located on the 4th Floor of Christchurch’s BNZ Building in Cathedral Square when the February 2011 earthquake struck. In 2005 Pace had project managed the refurbishment of John’s surgery and when the building was damaged beyond use in the 2011 earthquake, Pace were again on hand, this time to assist in the retrieval of the surgery’s property and equipment.
Immediately after the quakes, John received assistance from 4 other dental practices, each allowing him to work in their surgeries, helping to keep his patients treated.
In the interim, Pace were working side-by-side with John and his wife Kristin – planning, designing and ultimately building brand new premises for his practice.
John and Kristin had a clear vision for their surgery and, with Pace’s advice and input, gained the consents to build it. The new facility took 12 months from planning to completion and opened in July 2013.
“We knew what we wanted but Pace guided us through the whole process seamlessly. Pace managed our new build on time and on budget! We’re delighted with the outcome!” said John.
