Clubhouse

Single stage programme.

Alpine View Lifestyle Village Prestons Road, Waitikiri, Christchurch is an aged care village consisting of houses, apartments, a lodge containing indoor pool, spa, cafe, bar, restaurant, gym, movie theater and recently added clubhouse. 

Pace Project Management Ltd Project Managed the construction of the new clubhouse.  The design was to emulate an internal open high roof space to show off the structure of the building while allowing light to flood into the interior.  Due to the building code a traditional "chunky" style timber roof truss could not be used so a composite of steel frame timber clad trusses were designed and installed.  Tolerances were very tight to make the interior come together on the lines and levels of the internal sheet cladding and roof structure.  Internal services provided for gas fire, cooking on an internal pizza oven and gas heated hot water which raised the issues of gas supply during the cold months.  Designs were put in place to install a larger than normal gas supply storage station that was guaranteed to keep the clubhouse functioning during the depths of winter.
